Welcome to Clavering Adventure playground

The Adventure Playground has occupied a prime location on Jubilee Field behind the village hall for over 30 years and was originally managed by Jill Simpson. Over the years the equipment has been maintained with the assistance of parishioners and has enjoyed some financial support from grants and donations from local residents and the Parish Council.

Many villagers with children and grandchildren use these excellent facilities which is accessible 10 all and which helps to promote fitness and healthy play in a safe environment.

The playground is now managed by a very small number of dedicated people committed to maintaining the playground to a high standard for the benefit and enjoyment not only of residents but also for the many people who visit our beautiful village. Obviously a facility such as this does not look after itself and any offers of help in management or extra funding are always welcome. "The Friends of Clavering Adventure Playground" are always looking for ways to raise revenue, so please help out whenever you see a fund raising activity. Money is always needed to maintain the existing equipment and keep it within Health &. Safety guidelines. The equipment is regularly assessed by ROSPA which also incurs a charge for their inspection and report.

During the summer of 2009 I aim to install a picnic bench near the playground and conduct some remedial work necessary to keep the playground equipment serviceable. In order to fund these improvements, I am arranging a Quiz Bight at the village hall for Saturday 16th May 2009.

Whilst the playground has remained largely unblemished by acts of antisocial behaviour I would urge all who use the facility to please observe the following polite requests for the benefit of us all:

Please Don't:

1 Write or draw on the apparatus. It's almost impossible to remove and not only looks unsightly, but takes a great deal of voluntary time, effort and needless expense to remove.

2 Leave the lid off the sandpit. Nocturnal animals use it for a variety of functions which render it a health hazard for small children.

3 Leave any litter on playground or anywhere else on the field. Use of the bins behind the village hall is permitted but it would be most appreciated if you could take your litter away when you leave.

4 Let your dog off its lead or leave any deposits; I’m sure you wouldn’t want it on yours or your children's shoes!

Please Do:

1 Contact me if you are aware of any faults / defects etc. The equipment Is checked weekly but some problems may occur and go unnoticed unless reported.

2 Enjoy the facilities and support our efforts to keep the playground going for generations of children to come.
